Night of 1000 Voices Concert: More Links!

I found some more links (photo stills, audio and video) in relation to the Night of 1000 Voices concert that we sang at the Royal Albert Hall this past May. They’re on the same page of the original blog entry, down towards the bottom.

Here’s the link:

UK Trip 05-02-10: Concert Day at the Royal Albert Hall!

Does anybody besides me have a mental list of the most exciting moments of their life? Our wedding day in 2002 was (and probably always will be) the #1 most exciting thing that ever happened to me, followed closely by the day we got engaged in the year 2000. Seeing all four of the Monkees perform together in 1989 was ‘up there’ as well (if you’re coming in late, I was a big ol’ Monkees geek from the mid-1970’s into the early 1990’s), as was our very first Sing Live concert in Orlando in 2007. My 5th most exciting moment was last year at our Sing Live 10th Anniversary concert at the Royal Albert Hall, simply because it was the biggest audience any member of Sing Live USA had ever seen as part of that chorus (2000 people, maybe?) and, let’s face it, it was the Royal Albert frickin’ Hall, people! But I have to say that being a part of the Night of 1000 Voices has worked its way ‘up there’ too, because….wow. Just…wow.

The alarm was set for 6am but I had Read more…

UK Trip 05-01-10: Big Rehearsal Day

Today was our big rehearsal day, with almost everyone involved in the show. We woke up at 9:30am (we didn’t set the alarm – heavenly!) and met the rest of the American contingent in the hotel lobby at noon.

We took the Circle Line train to Kensington Station and walked the block or two to Kensington and Chelsea Town Hall. As we walked, we met up with some singers wearing royal blue Sing Live polo shirts – they saw our green shirts (the home color for Sing Live Orlando – each Sing Live group has a specific home color polo shirt that we sometimes wear for concerts but it also helps to differentiate us during a group rehearsal) and said hi. As we continued on our walk to the Town Ball, we passed Read more…

UK Trip: To be continued…

I have SOOOO much to say about the past few days, but so little time to say it. I’ve kept notes and took as many pictures as I could and will continent the blog after we get home on Tuesday night. Thanks for reading!

UK Trip 04-30-10: Changing of the Guards, Westminster Abbey, Sweet Charity

Ah, how could I ever forget the joys of the Holiday Inn Kensington Forum hotel. The set of 2 thin, teeny tiny towels that are divided between the bathroom and the closet, the crunchy toilet paper, Read more…

UK Trip 04-29-10: Traveling to, & Arriving In London

With an 11:05am train to catch and still some packing to do, I was up at 7:45am and Joe at 8am. Getting 90% of our packing done, we went out and stopped at Pret but since their filter coffee machine was broken (whimper!), Read more…

UK Trip 04-28-10: York (We Really Went This Time!)

In order to catch up on our sleep, we decided to not set an alarm. I woke up at 9:50am and Joe at 10:30ish – yep, I guess we really needed the sleep! We still planned to go to York though and figured that even if we couldn’t see it “all”, we would see what we had time to see and that would be it.

We debated on Pret vs. Starbuck’s for breakfast and Pret won, simply because, as Joe said, we could go to Starbucks any time. Yay!

When we were done eating, we walked to the Leeds train station, got 2 “return” (round trip) tickets for £21 and caught the 12:05pm train to York. It was about a 20-minute ride. Read more…
